I'm doing something a bit different this week for Free Read Saturdays. I love the scene in Out of Africa where Karen Blixen tells Denys and Berkeley that her nieces always gave her the first line of a story as a prompt. As I was watching this movie the other night, the idea for this contest came to me.
I'd like YOU, my readers, to give me the prompt for the next free read. Just leave a comment on this post with the first line, or anything else (keep it short, please!) that you want to give me as a prompt. At the end of the week, on Friday night, I'll close the comments.
If I have one comment, I'll write one Free Read. If I have ten comments, I'll write ten Free Reads. Now here's the contest bit...
I'll use those stories from your prompts as the next series of Free Reads, every Saturday. The more comments I have by the end of the week, the more Free Reads you can enjoy from everyone's prompts.
At the end of those stories I will post a poll, and again YOU get to participate. I will let you choose the best story. I hope we end up with a lot of stories because I would love to give away a first, second and third prize. The winners will be the people who gave me the prompt for the most popular stories, and the prizes will include books from my backlist and swag!!
So post those prompts!! I can't wait to start writing you stories!

While she was feeding the pigs she fell into the slop and then he walked by.
Kay was walking the dog, it was cold and snowing, and of course Fluffy couldn't find the "right" spot. She turned around to see what Fluffy was sniffing and someone playfully lobbed a snowball that landed right in her face.
She wielded her sword with a barely repressed fury. How dare he? He'd rue the day he'd crossed her...
She was running through the forest not knowing where she was going only knowing she needed to get away. Adrianne didn't see the log sticking out, cursing herself as she fell. She looked up and into the eyes of a predator...
Amy had never seen a dead body before.
